Claire started learning to ski aged 9 at Midlothian Snowsports Centre in Hillend, where she immediately fell in love with the sport. Whilst attending Dalkeith High School, her ski career took off. Skiing with the school ski team, she started training with Midlothian RaceTraining and racing for Dalkeith, competing at British schools level.
2013 - Claire won a scholarship with Interski Snowsports School. This enabled her to successfully complete her BASI Alpine levels 1+2 ski instructor qualifications. These were the first steps to skiing becoming her career.
April 2016 - Claire attended a selection day for the British Ski Cross teams. She was offered a place on the Home Nations Academy, GBX team.
The 2016/17 season enabled Claire to gain valuable professional experience teaching with Interski in the Alps. This in turn facilitated training with GBX and racing across Europe. The season highlight was being selected, along with her younger sister Zoe, to represent Team Great Britain for Ski Cross at the World Junior Freestyle championship.
Next season - Claire will compete in the Europa cup and will be training with British Ski and Snowboard, alongside the World Cup team.
Her goal - Winter Olympics in 2022
