Maintaining Mental Health and Building Resilience

We take a practical approach to managing mental health and building resilience

The course is designed to teach participants how to maintain good mental health and maintain resilience in the face of the challenges which they will meet in their work (and private) lives.

They will form a toolkit to call on when they find themselves in high pressure or stressful situations.

The course can be delivered in either of three formats, whichever is most relevant to the participants:

- A very popular course based on common scenarios, which encourages participants to identify their own challenges and formulate appropriate strategies to manage them.

- The 'What's Your Everest' course employs the same techniques but the content uses our Operation Director's participation in a team's 2015 attempt to climb Everest as the back-drop to building and maintaining resilience and mental health.

- The 'Demons in the Desert' course again employs the same techniques as above, but it borrows from our ever adventurous Operations Director's personal experience racing across the Sahara desert - and the ensuing accident that left him with a broken neck - to set the back-drop.

What’s Your Everest?

Everest is often used as a euphemism for the biggest challenge we face.

As well as an insight to some of the trials and tribulations involved in an ascent of the world’s highest mountain, delegates on this session will build a tool-kit of practical skills which they will be able to use in order to climb their own personal Everest, formulating and maintaining strategies appropriate to them.

Demons in the Desert

The off-road race to Dakar is one of the toughest endurance races on earth.

Delegates on this session gain an insight into survival in an environment far from the nearest help, whilst building a tool-kit of practical skills which they will be able to use to formulate and maintain strategies appropriate to their own daily lives.
