Retain

Failing to retain employees?

Retention is one of the single biggest costs for any business with high staff turnover. Our RETAIN programme will enable you to equip managers with effective leadership skills to enable them to flourish and directly influence the retention of your workforce. We are NOT offering a theoretical management course designed to tick the 'training delivered' box. All elements of this programme are 'hands on' and will stretch participants, taking them out of their comfort zones enhancing their leadership skills.

Participants develop a practical toolkit and a checklist, enabling them to take the best decision in the most challenging situation.

All Sandstone instructors have led teams in high pressure situations.

The RETAIN programme has been designed to equip managers with a practical toolkit of skills so they can stem the flow of staff turnover.

The Initial 2 Day Programme

The initial programme takes place over 2 days off-site at a location of your choice it's then supported by 2 x one day modules

Day 1: What is leadership?

The first day looks at what it means to be a leader from a practical perspective. The topics covered are as follows:

  • Management versus Leadership
  • What is the Base of Power
  • Leadership styles
  • The Human Element
  • Using the OODA (observe, orientate, decide, act) loop
In high pressure situations people need reassurance and direction. People don't leave bad jobs, they leave bad leaders.

Day 2: Why Should I Follow You?

The second day focuses on how we effect real behavioural change in a team:

  • Enabling Resilience
  • Delivering the "in order to..."
  • What is High Performance?
  • Goal setting and measurement

2 x One day Follow Up modules

Following the initial 2 day programme each participant will take part in 2 separate one-day modules. These are delivered face to face and at times and venues of your choice.

Leading change in a VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) environment

Humans are hard-wired to resist change - we thrive on routine and consistency. Unfortunately this creates very real challenges for leaders and organisations, who must necessarily evolve constantly, adapting to changing market places and environments. This module combines elements of management and leadership skills in order to equip participants to best deliver high performance results in changing environments.

Managing conflict

During this module participants will look at the human response to crisis and high pressure situations. They will understand how and why people respond in the way they do and how to lead to best effect in such circumstances.

Recommended Additional Modules:

Clients can choose to extend the programme with either or both of two additional modules which we recommend. These cover specific skills which are frequently required by leaders in challenging environments:

  • Difficult Conversations
  • Presentation training

Invest in the future

The initial 2 day Programme plus the 2 one-day Follow up Modules costs £15,000.00 + VAT (for up to 10 participants) excluding venue costs.

The recommended Additional Modules are each charged at £450.00 + VAT per person excluding venue costs (for a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 10 on any course).
