Critical decision making

Leadership: 1% Theory - 99% Practice

Making rapid effective decisions under pressure, where there are very real and immediate consequences to your actions, is something that all leaders have to learn.

On this course participants learn that:

  • as a leader you may have to take a critical decision when we are not in the best possible state either physiologically or psychologically, so that making the 'least bad' decision may be the best outcome
  • it is important to stay aware of the effect of stress when you make decisions
  • it is important to explain the “why” when communicating decisions.

Participants develop a practical toolkit and a checklist, enabling them to take the best decision in the most challenging situation.

All Sandstone instructors have led teams in high pressure situations.

The content includes:

  • Assessing the situation
  • Extracting intelligence from information
  • OODA loop decision analysis
  • Effective communication
