Leadership & Management Assessments

Companies often face the challenge of which candidates to appoint to management positions - especially companies with high staff turnover, and those with widely distributed operations - but this is a challenge faced by all companies.

Sandstone has for many years carried out assessments of staff identified by clients as potential managers at all levels from junior manager to general manager. These assessments fall into two categories:

- individual assessments of candidates for senior management positions identified by the client. These are carried out over one day by a team of two highly experienced assessors and include the review of a DISC evaluation and face to face interviews, along with other tasks focusing on leadership, management and particularly man management and communication skills. Clients often run an annual programme and submit candidates for assessment each month.

- group assessments to identify those candidates from a pool - identified jointly by Sandstone and the client - who may be the organization's future leaders and managers. These assessments are carried out over 2 to 3 days, generally once or twice a year, at an offsite managed by Sandstone staffers with client observers present and participating. The assessments include the review of a DISC evaluation, and candidates are assessed across a broad range of key competencies required by leaders and managers, including problem solving, numeracy, communication skills, teamwork and resilience.

Our Team

Sandstone Team members have considerable real world experience in leadership and resilience gained from business, the military and participation in expeditions and aid missions. No surprise then that we have wide experience also in teaching leadership and resilience. In addition, Mike and Tim have used their wide experience in First Aid training and practice to implement our hands-on First Aid training courses.
