The team at the Holland and Holland shooting ground had in date first aid certificates but were concerned about how they might respond in a real scenario out on the shooting ground.
Following on from the Women Who Work in Fieldsports day our team designed a half day CPD course. The concept was take the knowledge and training that they already had and reply them in simulated scenarios.
The ground is actually just outside of London but feels as though you are in the countryside. It is beautiful place to go shooting but provides its own challenges. The focus was life threatening bleeds, heart attacks and working as team towards the best possible outcome.
Each scenario saw the team providing specific locations to ambulance control, creating efficient access for paramedics and all whilst deploying tourniquets and AEDS - Top job!
The Holland and Holland team were utterly professional which reflects the way in which the entire grounds are presented and operated.
Working with the General Manager Paul Shanahan we looked at first aid assessments, trauma kits and extraction plans.
