Basic Life Support - 15' in the air!
A big thanks to Fred Sherwood Transport for allowing Sandstone First Aid into their lorry park to teach Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) to their drivers and support staff. The course focused on incidents that may happen around a busy truck yard with a lot of moving parts (large Lorries). The learners were a mixed group some having first aid skills and some with none. As the day progressed it was great to see them all gaining confidence in the skills they had learnt, and working together as a team.
The biggest lesson of the day was that lorry drivers do not have heart attacks on the floor of the classroom! We dispelled the myth "you should not move them", as well as a few others!
